Red Yeast Rice*, Gamma Oryzanol, Policosanols, Fenugreek and Coenzyme Q10.
Fermented Red Rice: By fermenting red rice with a yeast, Monascus purpureus, Monacolin K is obtained. This substance helps to maintain normal levels of cholesterol. It is a very ancient technique that was used in China and Japan.
Gamma oryzanol: Its name is derived from the rice plant (Oryza sativa) from which it is extracted. It is mainly extracted from rice bran oil, but it is also found in maize, barley, wholemeal flours and olives.
Coenzyme Q10 (or Ubiquinone): This is the principal nutrient of mitochondria, intracellular organelles involved in energy production, which are found in all cells. Like mitochondria, Coenzyme Q10 or Ubiquinone is found in all cells of our body. It can be both synthesised by the body and consumed through food.
Policosanols: These are natural substances extracted primarily from sugar cane, but also from rice and/or wheat bran and from apple peel.
Fenugreek: is a natural herb rich in nutrients. Its seeds contain several substances, including phytoestrogens and steroidal saponins. It is also used in the kitchen as a spice and as a thickener.
